Lincoln Symphony Orchestra presents Love, Loss & Eternity
Let Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra take you on a journey with music evoking time, place, heritage, and seasons. Music Director Edward Polochick will lead the orchestra and internationally renowned soloists through several LSO premieres, timeless classics, and music that explores a wide range of emotions from love and loss to elation and celebration.
LSO Concertmaster Anton Miller opens this performance with Sibelius’ heart-wrenching Violin Concerto in D Minor. Following intermission, the orchestra explores themes of love, loss, and the mysteries of the eternal with the dramatic Prelude and Liebestod from Wagner’s tragic opera Tristan und Isolde and Strauss’ transcendent tone poem Tod und Verklärung (Death and Transfiguration). Downtown Shop the Blocks Makers Market
This past winter, we hosted a series of makers markets at our new downtown home, Union Bank Place — and they were such a great success that we’re bringing them back! We’ve selected a full slate of talented local vendors for four upcoming shows you won’t want to miss. Each show will feature a lineup of 20-25 vendors (which we’ll announce before each market), as well as some fun family crafts, live music, and even some local art.
Downtown Shop the Blocks: A UBT vendor show to coincide with Downtown Lincoln Association’s annual event designed to entice shoppers to shop at downtown businesses before the holiday season.
Third Tuesday Bird Outings
Join a knowledgeable bird guide on an outing around the accessible trails. Meet fellow birders and learn the birds of the prairie. Binoculars will be available.

Project Funway
Project Funway is our annual fashion design competition and runway show where UNL students and local designers compete get the Best of Show judge's award. Designers use cast off or thrift clothing and materials to create unique, one of a kind designs. These designs are then showcased during the Project Funway runway show.
We invite you to attend this signature event in the Lincoln community. It will be held at the Cornhusker Marriott lower level conference space. In addition to the runway show, the event includes a short program, live and silent auction and hors d’oeuvres. All proceeds benefit Fresh Start, a non-profit goal-oriented housing program for women experiencing homelessness, offering skill development and supportive services.
Advance tickets for Project Funway are $65 each and VIP tickets are $85. Day of event general admission tickets are $75 and VIP reception are $100.

The Nutcracker - The Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company
There's no place like the ballet, especially around the holidays. Join us as we present the 40th season of the beloved holiday favorite, The Nutcracker, to the Lincoln community at the Lied Center for Performing Arts on December 14th and 15th, 2024.
This year marks Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company's 40th Season! The classic story of The Nutcracker comes to life with the finest choreography, costumes, and scenery, making this production a treasured holiday tradition. We have seen thousands of yards of fabric, 40 years of curtains raising and lowering, hundreds of mice tails scurrying, soldiers marching, snow whirling, and sugar plums dancing. Please join us as we glorify this milestone season.

Sounds of the Season
Guests are invited to enjoy the Sounds of the Season on Saturday, Dec. 14 beginning at noon. Sounds of the Season will feature a variety of local high school choir and band, and local dance groups performances and is sure to get guests in the holiday spirit!

2024 Lincoln Veterans Parade
Come celebrate our service members, veterans, their families, and this great community at the 6th annual Lincoln Veterans Parade. See local veteran service organizations, military units, youth organizations, supportive businesses, classic cars, and marching bands.
This year we are honoring the service members who've made the ultimate sacrifice and those families carrying on their memory.
Parade route starts at S 21st and K street, moves westbound to S 14th street. Free street and lot parking is available along the route. Both the parade line at S 21st and opening ceremony at the Capitol Building, starts at 2 PM. The Lincoln Veterans

Toast Nebraska Holiday Wine Festival
Now Nebraska’s largest gathering of wineries, the holiday festival has grown in size, surpassing the popular spring event held in Omaha earlier this year. With 20 participating wineries from across the state, this event offers attendees the unique opportunity to sample and purchase a diverse range of Nebraska wines all in one location.
In addition to the impressive winery lineup, the festival will feature more than 28 Nebraskan artisan and food vendors, live music, educational wine classes, and the ever-popular wine bingo. Guests can sip and savor wines while exploring local goods, learning more about Nebraska’s wine industry, and enjoying a day of festive entertainment.
The TOAST Nebraska: Holiday Wine Festival also provides the perfect opportunity to stock up on holiday wine essentials, with multiple bottles available for purchase. To make things easier, the festival offers a convenient wine check service, allowing attendees to shop worry-free and collect their purchases before leaving. Guests are welcome to enjoy their wine on-site as well, making it a perfect way to share a bottle with friends while playing wine bingo in the Quilt Room.

Cleanup at Holmes Lake
Join us for a clean-up around Holmes Lake in Lincoln! We will provide clean up supplies and will begin our clean-up at 10:00 AM.
Please come prepared with good shoes, comfortable clothing, and a reusable water bottle if you have one! Water and snacks will also be provided.

BirdingBirdability Outing
Birding is for everybody and every body.
Celebrate Birdability Week at Spring Creek Prairie with Cassandra Dean, Nebraska's Birdability Captain. This guided bird outing is for all birders, beginners to experts, of all abilities and mobilities. You don't have to stay for the entire time, come and go as you please. Free admission!

Pioneers Park Nature Center presents Twilight Treks
Join us each month to experience the sights and sounds of the Nature Center after hours. Each hike will have a different focus. Every Spring and Fall, the Home Builders Association of Lincoln hosts the Parade of Homes, giving potential buyers a unique opportunity to explore new homes and meet the builders.

Fall Rose Show
Lincoln Rose Society invites you to their Fall Rose Show.
Rose growers will be bringing their best roses for the show to be judged by judges who are not members of the Lincoln Rose Society. All types of roses will be on display - hybrid teas, floribundas, shrubs, miniature, floral arrangements, and photography. Anyone can enter the show with roses from their garden. Entries are accepted from 7 am to 10 am.

Hub & Soul Music Series
Hub & Soul is a free community event designed for people of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate music, local food, and Lincoln’s parks.
The 2024 nonprofit partner for the six-week series is the Great Plains Trails Network, a group of citizens who advocate for and support a network of trails in and around Lancaster County.
While the event is free, food prepared by The Hub Café and local food trucks, as well as local craft beer, hard cider and beverages, will be available for purchase.
